Our Story

Who We Are and What We Do

We make things. Nice solid things. Let it be garden rooms, furniture or house signs. We don't want to bore you with waxy lyricals about amazing quality and great service - all businesses should strive to achieve that (and we do too!) - so we made a list (we like lists!) of what we think sums us up:

- We are called Cotswold Furniture Makers (CFM) and we are a team of two (Husband and Wife) running this business and between us we have one Engineer and one PhD.

- We are a truly family owned and run business (we have two young children and one energetic cockapoo) which we started ourselves from our home during the pandemic.

- It all started with one garden office which was built by the Husband for the Wife to use. Family and friends were impressed by how well was it built (and also that it was nothing like a shed they expected to see!) and started to ask if we could build more of those - we liked the idea of running a business and when pandemic hit us all (with all the restrictions in place) we thought it would be smart to diversify - so we opened a Limited Company and launched our online shop alongside building garden rooms so there would be a part of this business which we can run from home (if we are ever not allowed out again).

- We are very outdoorsy and love spending time outside with our children - due to supply shortages and being unable to get any oak furniture for our garden, we got inspired to put Husband’s carpentry/engineering skills into good use and to make some ourselves. One thing led to another and this is how we got our name - Cotswold Furniture Makers!

- We believe that dreams come true when you have a clear vision, work hard and do that with a smile on your face. A little bit of positivity can go a long way! We like posting on our social media - you can find a lot of behind the scenes pictures there from our daily life running this business.

- At the moment, we have two set size garden room ranges: CFM Garden Pods and CFM Office&Shed Combos and we specialise in building bespoke gardens rooms that can fit any garden. There are a few short and long term things planned and we are excited to be growing our small business with all your support.
